This is a short audio drama of Mirage of Blaze Volume 38 阿修羅の前髪 Ashura no Maegami (The Forelocks of Asura). I'm guessing that this excerpt is from the part where the Futsunomitama or "Sword of Rebirth" fails to save Kagetora's dying soul and Naoe is angsting about Kagetora's eventual death. Note that Naoe isn't actually talking to Kagetora. He's having an internal struggle with his own despair and the positive voice in his heart manifests itself as Kagetora.

Kagetora:	Naoe. Naoe, please remember. For what reason, is this necessary? Please remember. Once more.
Naoe:	For what reason? So that I can stand at the same end point. For what reason? I already know what the world will be without you. For what reason? You do not wish for me to be left behind. Because of this future, even you have no choice but to accept that there is no eternity for us despite believing in it. That sort of suffering is not needed. I will disappear as well.
Kagetora:	For this reason, you will support something that you do not hope for? You will support something that will kill me?!
Naoe:	For what reason...
Kagetora:	It is for the present. Not the future, Naoe. It is for the present. Right now, you are trying to eliminate your prevailing anxiety by mentioning the future. Just to remove this anxiety, we will have to betray the world we are attached to with all of our heart and soul, betray the blood flowing through our veins this very moment. Life, existence, the limits of existence which cannot be challenged, the reconciliation offered in death, ideals, desires, faith... Are we to turn our back on the way to be in this world for which we have risked our entire existences? Is the promise of a peaceful death more important than this one step towards having a little more happiness to live for? Is this what you believe?! If the end can be seen while we still live, we have even more reason to live every minute until the very end. Don't you think so?
