V-Day with Kotarou

I guess I'm posting this a bit late but I wrote this on Valentine's Day after wondering about what this special day would be like with Kotarou and Takaya.

Title: V-Day with Kotarou
Fandom: Mirage of Blaze
Pairing: Kotarou x Takaya
Rating/Warning: PG-13; not beta-ed, written in 20 minutes

Kotarou did have the decency to remember Valentine's Day. Takaya saw that he had bought a bouquet of red roses, but he did not expect them to be neatly placed in the vase on the table.

No matter, I hate receiving flowers anyway, makes me feel like a woman.

There was a box of chocolates on the table.

"They are Neuhaus Belgian chocolates," Kotarou explained when Takaya looked at him. He continued to stare at Kotarou, was he expecting him to say more?

"..."

Takaya plopped himself onto the chair, crudely removed the plastic wrapper and began to cram the chocolates into his mouth one after another with a gloomy look on his face. He finished the entire box in ten minutes. Standing beside him, Kotarou looked on in silence.

It was an awkward silence.

"Naoe."

"Kagetora-sama?"

"I want to drink."

"Drink what, Kagetora-sama?"

"Beer, what else!" Takaya was glaring at him.

"I shall go the nearby store and procure a carton of beer."

Kotarou was just about to leave when Takaya jumped up, knocking over his chair in the process. He grabbed hold of Kotarou's shirt roughly.

"I'm not of age yet!" Takaya yelled. I'm still too young for alcohol, you're supposed to say that! Takaya's eyes bored into Kotarou's, as though if he stared hard enough this could somehow be telepathically conveyed to 'Naoe'.

"K-Kagetora-sama, you are..."

His grip had loosened, there was that lonesome expression in Takaya's eyes again as he lowered his head. It gnawed at a certain corner of Kotarou's heart.

"...!"

Takaya's eyes widened as strong arms wrapped around him. Kotarou held Takaya delicately almost as if in fear.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Kagetora-sama."

"..."

He could feel Takaya slowly relax in his embrace, leaning against his chest.

Naoe...

I like this, but now I'm depressed ;_;

Makes me sad for all of them: Takaya, Kotarou, AND Naoe.

On a side note, if it's valentine day's in japan... shouldn't it be Takaya giving out the chocolates? XD *runs and hides before an angry Kagetora can find her

Glad you liked it, although I didn't intend the fic to be depressing...

Yes, Takaya is going to get you for this XD I was actually thinking of writing about White Day too, but I guess my laziness got the better of me :P

Smiles... it did make me laugh at the part where Takaya yells about being underage. Naoe forever harps on that topic in the anime. It is a bit irritating.

such a short fic, but i like it...it's a bit sad that takaya will only see naoe and doesn't realize kotarou also care for him.

Thanks for sharing! It was good, yet sad, and the feeling that i have to hugging them is rising in me.... Kagetora's loneliness is hurt so much.

This fic, from an overall view gives kind of awkward and a bit sad feeling. But because it is mirage, this can actually be called fun…or at least I have long since gotten used to redefining terms like angst, love, pain, fun, and so on. Kuwabara-sensei is to blame.
I do love Kotarou. Yet the true is I don’t understand his character much, you know, being emotionaly inhibited and stuff…
A man like this, what drives HIM through all those years? I can’t possibly imagine.
I think he can fairly well join Naotaka’s club of abused, twisted and spent charas without any worry of being inferior to them XDDD
Back to the fic: You do realize that sensei is corrupting your way of thinking, right? What with all the „…“ and „ …! “ ??? XDDDD But you got right there.
What would be the difference if Takaya really said the last „Naoe“?

I guess what drives Kotarou is his sense of duty and loyalty to Ujiyasu (historically, the Fuuma ninjas served the Hojo clan for a considerable period of time), his only purpose being to carry out his orders without questioning them- perfect obedience. There isn't much background info on him, but my guess is that Kotarou isn't void of feelings, they were very well suppressed as a result of his training until Kagetora came along. Then his feelings began to influence his judgment, thereby confusing the poor ninja...

What would be the difference if Takaya really said the last „Naoe“?
Kotarou would weep... :P
