The (tentative) title for the new MoB prequel is Biwajima Hime (琵琶島姬), to be released on February 1st. From a quick search, Biwajima was the name of a castle in Echigo. It was ruled by Usami Sadamitsu, who was one of Uesugi Kenshin's chief retainers and apparently died in his attempt to kill Nagao Masakage supposedly on Kenshin's orders. Nagao Masakage was Kagekatsu's biological father and apparently Kenshin adopted Kagekatsu after his father's death. Seems like the new prequel will be focusing on the Uesugi clan this time, perhaps Kagekatsu will be making an appearance? I need to start reading the MoB prequels.

Divine Red is indeed ending, it's mentioned in sensei's 08/01 diary entry. However she's currently working on an extra side volume, so technically speaking there are two more volumes to go. I'm still not very happy, but I'll wait until I've read the novels before I decide if sensei is ending this series prematurely.

By the way, does anyone know anything about sensei's two-volume series イルゲネス -The Genetic Sodom ILEGENES- published last year? I can't find any translations or information but I'm interested since it looks like a science-fiction piece. I've listened to the audio drama, which was released together with the Vassalord 'Baby Crisis' track, and have no idea what's going on (there's some kind of war and ILEGENES seems to be something important). Hmm.. the postcard that came with the drama CD made it look a bit like a Western actually.

I'm so sorry to hear that since I know how much you love DR; its really too bad that Renjou/Kei is the main pairing in fandom since good fanfic is often the best comfort for this. At least thought there's two more volumes instead of just one.

Interesting details about the castle; I for one would love more details on Kagekatsu and his relationship with Kagetora due in no small part to Cerise Tennyo's excellent prequel fic some of which you can access on the fic recs link that Lady_Nara posted on mirageofblaze.

Ah DR, I've resigned myself to the bitter truth. It's depressing all the same.

I too would love to know more about Kagekatsu, Vol 20 hinted on a certain closeness between them and that Kagekatsu had feelings of remorse for having driven Kagetora to his death.

I would also like to know more about Kagekatsu and his connection w/ Kagetora, sadly I had little information about the prequels...

And hopefully you'll find everything in the 2 volumes of Divine Red that sensei will be released. I'm also curious since I know how much you care for it ^^

I was just wondering where you found/got the drama CD for Ilegenes. I've been trying to find stuff about Ilegenes, but there are just so little information about it...

I got them off Emule. The first one was released as a single track on the Zebel Blade Edition CD together with Vassalord as mentioned in my post. Another separate drama CD has also been released.

In case you're curious, all of the audio dramas are based on the novels rather than the manga.

P.S. Your MoB translation/summaries make me feel nostalgic. I used to fangirl over the series before I got swamped with school and my japanese went down the tube, lol xD I feel inspired to relearn Japanese to read my novels again ^^
